We’re still alive, don’t worry!

It’s been over a year since my last post! Yikes. FutureScape has still been going, but I let the blog slide a little. Actually, a lot. I originally started it sort of for fun, sort of to document mistakes and make announcements, but mostly to make money. Which isn’t the best motivation to do something consistently. I have since realized that making money off a blog is really hard, especially when the topic is very unclear, niche, and frankly nerdy. So, I’m scratching that off the goals list. Instead, the blog will serve as a repository of ideas and notes, sort of like a personal design notebook, but theoretically open to the public. Why not just keep a personal notebook? I think that making this writing public might be useful for others down the line, but also for self-expression and enjoyment. You may also be wondering what precipitated this post: I was told I needed to practice writing, and I remembered the blog! So I thought I would warm up by getting things back on track. Some posts I want to do in the near term: Discussing the future of FutureScape, documenting all the engineering mistakes made over the last year or so, and also a brainstorming post about cool ideas and projects that maybe we or others might try out to help better this world. So those are all things to look forward to!
