Announcement: PLEASE VOTE

A few great innovations of humanity have driven us forward in leaps and bounds. Agriculture, writing, electricity. But one such innovation stands out as being a pivotal force for the betterment of our lives: the Republic. This abstract, but simple political innovation helped bring peace and prosperity to vast swathes of modern society. The concept of the republic was likely formulated long before Plato’s famous work by the same name, but I would argue that it was first put into words by the student of Socrates. Plato showed that a Republic is not as strong as its leader, or its armies, or its economy, but as its people, and that these same people are the true rulers of the Republic. But only if the people exercise their right to rule themselves. In the United States, one of the oldest and strongest republics to have ever existed, we act on that right every two years on the first Tuesday of November.

If we do not vote, we forfeit the right to be governed fairly.

It does not matter who you vote for, as long as you vote. To this end, FutureScape will not be doing any company work on election day. This follows in the footsteps of the “Time to Vote” movement. We hope, as always, that this sets an example for others.

Thank you and please vote!
